Lt. Chad Sayre

Lt. Chad Sayre
Chief Deputy Coroner

I began my career with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office in October of 2000 as a Correctional Officer and was promoted to Deputy Sheriff in April 2001.

As a sworn officer, I have had the opportunity to work in multiple areas throughout the Agency. In 2001, I was assigned to the Court Services Bureau where I worked as a Bailiff providing security to the Solano County Hall of Justice. In 2002, I was assigned to the Patrol Bureau and was also selected for a position on the Solano County SWAT team.  While assigned to SWAT, I held the position of an entry operator and counter sniper and ultimately becoming the Sniper Team Leader. From 2005-2010, I was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau investigating family crimes and general investigations.  In 2012, I was selected for the position on the Sheriff’s Enforcement Team (SET). In addition to the various assignments, I was also a Field Training Officer, EVOC an Taser Instructor.

In 2016 I was promoted to Sergeant.  I was initially assigned to the Court Service Bureau at the Fairfield Hall of Justice.  Later in 2016, I was transferred to the Transportation Bureau where I was responsible for inmate movements throughout the county and state.  In 2019, I returned to Patrol Bureau where I supervised a graveyard patrol team.  In 2020, I transferred to Compliance and Professional Standards Bureau. While in this assignment, I worked with executive management on the implementation of Lexipol Policies, updating procedures, prepared and released Public Information requests and review use of force incidents that occurred at the agency.

In February of 2022, I was promoted to Lieutenant where I was assigned to manage the Coroner’s Office, Civil Bureau and Contract Services.
