The Solano County Sheriff’s Office opened the Rourk Vocational Training Center (RVTC) in 2019. At the Rourk Vocational Training Center, we are committed to providing high-quality, hands-on training in essential trades, including Tire Servicing, Heavy Equipment Operation, Construction and Welding. Our programs equip participants with the skills and certifications needed for successful careers in these high-demand fields.

We are proud of our strong partnerships with the Laborer’s Union Local 324 and the Carpentry Union Local 180, ensuring that our trainees not only receive exceptional instruction but also have the opportunity to connect directly with industry professionals and unions that can help lead to future career opportunities.

Our Carpentry Class has inspired the creation of Rourk Industries, where the extraordinary work of our program participants is on full display. Every piece of furniture and craftsmanship you see has been created by our Program participants, under the expert guidance of our experienced instructors. Some of these pieces even showcase the personal artistic talents of our participants, turning items into works of art.
