RETIREE HEALTH OPTIONS

Please read this information carefully and completely. It explains options for continuation of health benefits into Retirement.

As a Retiree of Solano County, you may continue your health plan coverage and have the premiums deducted from your monthly CalPERS retirement allowance.

Important Note: If you elect to have your premiums deducted from your monthly CalPERS retirement allowance and you have questions or concerns about your health insurance plan, YOU MUST CONTACT the health care provider. The retiree health insurance arrangement is between the Retiree and the health care provider.
Delta Dental
When you retire, you have the option to continue your current level of dental coverage for up to 18 months under the terms of COBRA.

An alternative to COBRA for Delta Dental members is the option to transfer to a modified dental plan called, "Del Norte Plan for Retirees" offered through United Healthcare.

To enroll in the Del Norte Plan for Retirees, you must complete a United Healthcare enrollment form and an authorization form to deduct premiums from your monthly PERS retirement allowance. A check for two-month's premium must also accompany these forms to ensure continuous coverage until United Healthcare can coordinate your monthly premium deduction with PERS. For more information about the Del Norte Plan, call (800) 999-3367.

United Healthcare
If you are enrolled in United Healthcare as an active employee you may continue your current dental coverage for up to 18 months under the terms of COBRA.

United Healthcare members also have the opportunity to transfer to the "Del Norte Plan for Retirees" as described above.
