Can I bring my whole family during visitor hours?
• AUTHORIZED VISITORS are defined as Parents and Legal Guardians only. Photo identification is required.
• Visitors may bring only two (2) keys and photo identification during your visit at Cedar Hall. Please leave everything else in your car. We cannot hold your belongings for you.
• Parents/guardians may visit for all or a portion of the 60-75 minute visiting period depending on visiting hours. The latest a visitor may arrive is 15 minutes prior to the end of the minor’s designated visiting time slot.
• Visitors may not return to the visiting area at Cedar Hall after leaving for any reason. Please use restroom prior to admittance to Cedar Hall for your visit.

Can I make a donation to my child’s facility?
The Juvenile Detention Facility does not accept donations of books or magazines from parents.

Can I make a probation payment online?
Yes. Go to www.solanocounty.com, probation, probation payments online. This will take you to another website where you can make the payment.

Can I visit someone in Juvenile Hall?
Yes, visiting is a very important part of the Juvenile Detention Facility Program. Regular visits help preserve the ties between the minors in detention and his or her own family, and vividly demonstrate the interest of the family for the minor and the desire for help.

 



Can I write to my child?
Remember to include your complete return address. Minors may not receive mail from other jails, prisons, or juvenile detention facilities. Please address mail as follows:

DMV notified me that I have an outstanding issue with a ticket and they won’t let me get my license until I take care of it; who do I call regarding this issue?
Is this concerning a ticket issued to a Juvenile or and Adult?
Adult: All issues concerning a ticket issued to an Adult must be processed through Solano County Courts. The number to call for Adults is 707.207.7360 (Fairfield) or 707.561.7860 (Vallejo). Juvenile Traffic is a separate entity and cannot address any tickets issued to an Adult.

Juvenile: All matters concerning a juvenile that has been issued a ticket are directed to Juvenile Traffic at the Solano County Probation Department, 707.784.7600. Juvenile Traffic is not able to assist with adult ticket matters as they are not associated with the Courts.

How can I apply for a marriage license as a minor (under age 18)?
You must complete the Early Marriage Application to obtain a petition for a marriage license as an underage minor to be submitted at the Solano County Probation Department. Prior to completing the application please review the Early Marriage Application Instructions. Please be advised that this process will involve an interview with a Probation Officer and a Court appearance. Should your request be denied an Appeal Process will be offered requiring another Court appearance. Be aware that this can be a lengthy process.

How do I dial the Public Defender from the jail phone
There is an agency contact number listing located next to the jail phone on each floor of the jail.

How do I get to the Vallejo Probation Office?

From Fairfield, take the 80 Freeway take the Tennessee St. exit. Turn left onto Solano Ave. Turn right onto Tuolumne St. Probation is located on the right side at 355 Tuolumne Street.

From I-80 and the Carquinez Bridge, Take the Georgia St. Exit to the right toward the light. Make a right turn onto Georgia St. Turn sharp right onto Solano Ave. Take the first left onto Tuolumne Street. Probation is located on the left side at 355 Tuolumne Street.

I had a court date concerning a traffic ticket and I missed my court date…..or can’t attend my court date, who do I call about this?

I need to know the time and date of my upcoming court date?
If your court date is associated with a case that you are on Probation for, you can contact your Probation Officer or call the main Probation Office at 707-784-7600 for assistance. If your court date is not associated with a case that you are on Probation for, you can contact the Solano Superior Court Public Information Office at (707) 207-7475. (if this does not pertain to Probation they need to contact other agencies.  You may want to look into this further for phone numbers.)

I need to know what time my appointment is with my Probation Officer?

I was told that if I cannot afford Probation fees, I can dispute them. Who do I need to speak to regarding this issue?
Juvenile Hall or Public Defender Fees: If the fees are Juvenile Hall or Public Defender fees, you should contact the Probation Department, collections unit at 707-784-7625 who will be able to provide you with the forms that you will need to complete to assess your financial ability to pay.Probation Fees: Contact your Probation Officer. (If the you do not know your Probation Officer, you can call the main office number (707-784-7600) and Reception can assist you.

The Probation Department told me that I need to attend a class while I’m on Probation, how do I know which class to attend? Is there a list?

You will need to contact the Probation Office regarding this issue.  Your Probation Officer may want you to attend a specific class or you may have the choice of choosing from a list available with the Probation Department.  Please contact the Probation Department at 707-784-7600.

  5. Must be willing to commit to a minimum of one semester.
  6. Must be able to pass a background investigation and/or Live scan.
  7. A letter of recommendation from your college/university indicating permission to participate in an internship with Solano County Probation Department.

What is the Probation Department’s business hours?
The Probation Department is open for regular business from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., closed for lunch from 12:00 p.m. to 1:p.m., and reopened again from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Where do I go to make a payment on a case toward my fines, fees or restitution?

If paying on an Adult case on formal or supervised probation or juvenile cases you can choose 1 of 3 methods:

  • Mail payment to Solano County Probation Department at 475 Union Avenue – Fairfield, CA  94533.  Include your case number or account number (if known) on your payment.  Do not send cash.
  • You can drop off your payment at the Probation Department lobby located at 475 Union Avenue – Fairfield, CA  94533.  Please do not use cash when dropping off your payment
  • You can also CLICK HERE to pay online.


Who can I contact to report suspected child abuse?
Child Protective Services—toll free, call 1-800-544-8696. Information is also available on the OFVP website, go to www.solanocounty.com, from the department drop down menu choose Family Violence Prevention, then click on Community Resources, and click the blue link to open the resource guide, Page 30 provides information on Children Services.
