LNU Lightning Complex Fire August 2020

"Grief is in two parts. The first is loss. The second is the remaking of life." - Anne Roiphe

The past two years have been marked by loss. As we reach the second anniversary of the LNU Lightning Complex fire, our thoughts remain with our community, family, and friends working to remake their lives following this disaster. As we look towards the future remember, we are stronger when we stand together.

The Solano County Office of Emergency Services (OES) is the primary local coordination agency for emergencies and disasters affecting residents, public infrastructure, and government operations in the Solano County Operational Area (OA). The Solano OA includes the entirety of the County and its cities, towns, and special districts. Solano OES is charged with providing the necessary planning, coordination, response support and communications with all agencies affected by large scale emergencies and disasters. Solano OES works in cooperative effort with other governmental jurisdictions with the county; disciplines such as law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical services, state and federal agencies, utilities, private industry, and volunteer groups in order to provide a coordinated response to disasters.

The Solano County Administrator is the designated Director of Emergency Services and the Sheriff-Coroner is the designated Assistant Director of Emergency Services for the Operational Area by local ordinance. The Emergency Services Manager, under the direction of the Director and Assistant Director of Emergency Services, is responsible for the day-to-day management of OES and the emergency management programs.
