The preservation of life and property is an inherent responsibility of all levels of government. as disaster can occur in devastating form at any time, Solano County must provide safeguards, which may save lives, while minimizing property damage. This will be accomplished through planning, preparedness measures and training. Sound emergency plans carried out by knowledgeable and well-trained personnel can and will minimize losses.

We need your help! 

We want to hear from you on the draft Solano Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan!  Commenting is now open, and we have a public workshop scheduled for Aug. 18th from 6-7:30 PM (or just stay for the first :30). The plan focuses on mitigating the effects of natural hazards through proposed actions that protect lives and property across the county. The county, all cities in the county, and several special districts are participating. Public input will ensure the priorities of the Hazard Mitigation Plan match those of Solano County residents.
