Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP3)
Approximately $1,600,000 has been allocated to Solano County as part of the Federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP3). To actually receive the funds, the County must formally submit a complete application and resolution, approved by the Board of Supervisors. The NSP3 is designed to provide funding for projects that mitigate the impact of significant numbers of vacant, abandoned and foreclosed properties in residential neighborhoods. The activity that has the most positive effect is the acquisition, rehabilitation, and resale of the homes to eligible buyers. Solano County Housing Authority and Section 8 Program
The Solano County Housing Authority (SCHA), under an agreement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), provides housing assistance through the Section 8 Housing Assistance program for the unincorporated areas of Solano County and the Cities of Dixon and Rio Vista. The administration of the Solano County Housing Authority and its Section 8 Housing Assistance Program is contracted to the City of Vacaville Housing and Redevelopment Department.
