The Solano County Military and Veterans Committee is an informal group, dedicated to providing support and assistance to veterans and their families. The committee provides a forum for exchanging information and resources on various topics related to veterans' issues, including service connected disability benefits, housing, jobs, training, and health care. The committee meets twice a year, usually in May and November, and is hosted by the Solano County Veterans Services Department in collaboration with community organizations. The committee welcomes all veterans, active duty service members, reservists, National Guard members, their families, and members of the community to attend and participate in the meetings. The committee also invites representatives from local, state, and federal agencies, as well as non-profit and private organizations, to share their programs and services with the veterans' community. The committee's mission is to ensure the veterans community has a say in the allocation of resources which would enhance the quality of life and well-being of our military, veterans, and their families.
