Secrets of Baby Behavior: It's time to use a little common sense and readjust our thinking.
We can learn a lot from babies and the wonderful research that has been done about
them over the last 30 years. In this blog, you'll hear from moms who have been in the
trenches (and in the classroom), who understand what you are going through and what
your baby is trying to tell you. We look forward to sharing our knowledge and experience
with you and we hope that you'll share your ideas and questions with us.

Coalition for Improving Maternity Services (CIMS) is a coalition of individuals and national organizations
with a mutual concern for the care and well-being of mothers, babies, and families. Our members
consist of the broader community of childbirth organizations, birth professionals, stakeholders,
birth advocates and consumers. CIMS’ mission is to work with the birth and breastfeeding
community and our members by encouraging and promoting evidence-based,
Mother-and-Baby-Friendly maternity care, as outlined in the
Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative (MFCI ) the first and only
consensus document on U.S. maternity care.

Infant Sleep Information Source (ISIS):
ISIS is a collaboration between Durham University Parent-Infant Sleep Lab,
La Leche League, NCT, and UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative, funded by
a grant from the ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council).
This website is about normal infant sleep. We use 'normal' to mean
'what is biologically expected for humans'.
Our starting point is that sleep is a biological need. We present information a
bout what is biologically normal for human babies. We also discuss how this
may vary due to different cultural behaviours and expectations
such as what babies are fed, where they sleep, and how societies I
nterpret their needs.
This information is for:
* Parents who wish to make informed choices about infant sleep and
night-time care,
* Health Professionals who wish to share evidecne-based information
with parents about infant sleep
