Lieutenant Jackson Harris

Public Information Officer

Lt. Jackson Harris first joined the Solano County Sheriff’s Office in 2006 as a Deputy Sheriff where he worked a variety of assignments including patrol, bailiff, Coroner Investigator and Public Information Officer. He helped create the departments emergency driving training program where he was an instructor. He also served on the countywide regional SWAT Team. Jackson was named the Deputy Sheriff of the Year in 2012.

In 2015, Jackson was promoted to Sergeant where he oversaw a patrol shift and was then assigned to the Office of Emergency Services. There, he coordinated numerous paid and volunteer teams including Search and Rescue, Reserve Deputy Sheriff’s and Cadets. He also served as the coordinator for the countywide Terrorism Liaison Program and Law Enforcement Mutual Aid Program. Jackson was named Supervisor of the Year in 2016.

In 2019, Jackson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Jackson was initially assigned to manage the Special Services Bureau which included the Coroner’s Office, Court Services and Transportation. In November of 2019, Jackson was transferred to Rio Vista to assist with the transition of the Sheriff’s Office service contract. Jackson was named the Police Chief when the contract was approved.

Lt. Harris has now rotated back to the main Sheriff’s Office and is our Public Information Officer and still managing the Coroner’s Office and Transportation Bureaus as a Lieutenant.
