Alvin Jackson was born in Bernice Louisiana and moved to San Francisco with his parents when he was two years old. He resided in San Francisco until 1989 when he and his wife moved to Solano County.

Alvin began his work with the Solano County Sheriff's Office as a chaplain in 2004. Previously he served as a religious volunteer, and as a chaplain assistant. As chaplain, Alvin provides religious material and spiritual support to inmates and their families. Chaplain Jackson counsels, interviews, and advises inmates on moral, spiritual, domestic, and personal problems and issues. Chaplain Jackson also serves Solano County as a volunteer community chaplain. His duties include death notifications, violent crimes against people, accidents involving serious injuries, such as automobile, fires, and drowning.

Alvin has three grown children, and five grandchildren. In his spare time you can usually find the Chaplain at the Warriors and Giants games, or trying to learn a little golf.
