In cases of an outbreak, laboratory services are provided at no cost to the submitter, but pre-approval by and coordination with communicable disease is required. For additional reference laboratory services, the Napa-Solano-Yolo-Marin-Mendocino County Public Health Laboratory acts as conduit to route specimens to the California Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention for appropriate testing.
