With the help of our partners, we have been able to implement several projects in the county. | | Artichoke Thistle Control West County (2008-2010) - Funded by WMA Supplemental Funding in 2008, Fish and Game Fine Funds in 2009, ARRA Stimulus Funding in 2010 and 2011
- Herbicide treatment of artichoke thistle on hills between Vallejo and Cordelia
- Cooperative project on Solano Land Trust property and adjacent private cattle ranches
Invasive Weed Education and Coordination (2008-2011) - Funded by: Department of Conservation, Watershed Coordinator grant
- Provide technical assistance to Solano County citizens on weed control
Invasive Woody Species Control (2009-2010) - Funded by Weed Management Area base funding
- Herbicide treatment of tree of heaven, fig, English Ivy and Himalayan blackberry
- Lake Solano County Park
Artichoke Thistle Control East County (2010) - Funded by Weed Management Area base funding
- Herbicide treatment of artichoke thistle in the Montezuma Hills area
- Cooperative project on SMUD property and private farmland
Past Projects: Cost Share-Targeted Weed Control Program (2003-2005) - Funded by WMA and Solano County
- Provided training and herbicide to Solano County landowners for invasive weed control
Invasive Weed Mapping (2004-2005) - Funded by National Fish and Wildlife Foundation
- GPS mapped four invasive weed species (artichoke thistle, perennial pepperweed, arundo and red sesbania
- Created GIS database of weed locations
Arundo and Red Sesbania Control (2006-2009) - Funded by National Fish and Wildlife Foundation
- Two seasons of arundo control (herbicide treatment) and four seasons of red sesbania control (manual removal)
