Dax began his law enforcement career with the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office in 1997 as a Sheriff’s Aide and was hired by the Solano County Sheriff’s Office in 2000 as a Correctional Officer. In January 2002, Dax was promoted to Deputy Sheriff and attended the Napa Valley Police Academy.

As a Deputy Sheriff, Dax worked as a patrol deputy, a Field Training Officer, Narcotics Detective assigned to Cal-MMET, and General Investigations Detective. Dax was also a member of the Sheriff’s Office Mobile Field Force along with an Instructor and Team Leader for the Sheriff’s Office Emergency Vehicle Operations Course.

In 2011, Dax was promoted to Sergeant where he supervised Patrol, Vallejo Courts, Fairfield Courts, Civil Bureau, and Investigations.

In July 2019, Dax was promoted to Lieutenant and currently manages the Patrol Bureau, Marine Patrol Bureau, Resident Deputy Program, and K-9.

Dax has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Union Institute & University. He holds numerous certificates from the California Peace Officers Standards and Training including POST Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, and Supervisory.
