Here at First 5 Solano we believe all children should be loved, and are healthy, confident, eager to learn, and nurtured by their families, caregivers, and communities.
First 5 Solano provides funding to partners who work directly with the community to provide services bettering the lives of children age 0-5 and their families. Funded partners provide many services including prenatal care, healthcare access, quality childcare, family support, and parent education.
Help Me Grow Solano
First 5 Solano partners with Help Me Grow Solano to connect children to the resources they need. Help Me Grow provides families with information and referrals regarding their child’s development, behavior, and learning. They also are a referral service for social and healthcare providers. Help Me Grow Solano started serving the community in 2014 and in 2015 had received 665 calls.
Solano Coalition for Better Health
Solano Kids Insurance Program (SKIP) is a program run by Solano Coalition for Better Health. SKIP’s main goal is to help kids get the health coverage they need. They also provide information on other services that the family may qualify for such as CalFresh (also known as SNAP at the federal level).
Pre-Kindergarten Academies 2016
First 5 Solano served 392 students in the 2016 Pre-Kindergarten Academies. Pre-Kindergarten Academies provide quality early childhood education for children entering Kindergarten who have not previously attended pre-school or can benefit from additional preparation prior to starting school.
