Solano County to open public review period for Community Wildfire Protection Plan; encourages input

August 16, 2023

SOLANO COUNTY – County officials, in collaboration with SWCA Environmental Consultants, is pleased to announce the commencement of the public review period for the 2023 Solano County Community Wildfire Protection Plan. The public review period is open from August 28 through September 18, 2023.

The Solano County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) represents a comprehensive effort to enhance the safety and resilience of our communities against the threat of wildfires. Through a collaborative and community-driven approach, this plan aims to identify and address vulnerabilities while emphasizing the protection of lives, property, and our natural resources.

As we enter this crucial phase, County officials seek the participation and engagement of Solano County residents, as public feedback is instrumental in shaping a robust and responsive wildfire protection strategy.  By offering your insights, you play a vital role in bolstering our collective capacity to mitigate wildfire risks and foster a safer environment for all.

We invite all community members to carefully review the draft plan and provide invaluable feedback to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with the unique needs of our community.  The draft CWPP will be available for review and comment starting on August 28 on the Solano County website, located at http://www.SolanoCounty.com/FireReady.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the residents, organizations, and agencies involved in this collaborative endeavor. Together, we will create a path towards a more resilient, fire-adaptive Solano County.  For more information or to ask any questions, please contact Project Manager, Vicky Amato, at [email protected] and/ or Assistant Project Manager, Montiel Ayala, at [email protected].
