Tickets now on sale for Solano County Fair

Advance tickets for the 60th birthday of the Solano County Fair from Wednesday, July 22, to Sunday, July 26, are on sale.

This year's fair, themed "60 Years and Raisin' the Steaks," has just announced the full concert series lineup, with all entertainment, included in the price of admission.

The fair's entertainment includes:

·   July 22, "American Idol" sensation, soul and R&B diva Kimberley Locke;

·   July 23, 70s funk and R&B band, Con Funk Shun;

·   July 24, multiplatinum-selling icons and 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees War;

·   July 25, rock 'n' roll star Eddie Money; and

·   July 26, Hispanic megastars Los Mismos.

In addition to this electrifying entertainment lineup, the Solano County Fair is the best place to experience the many sights, sounds and smells that give a county fair its magic including competitive exhibits, livestock shows, the carnival midway rides and games of skill, the Family Fun Zone, fireworks, and, of course, irresistible fair food from corn dogs to funnel cakes to gigantic turkey legs.

The Family Fun Zone includes the AgTion Ranch – a hands-on and interactive fun place for kids of all ages – a petting zoo, pony rides and pig races.

The excitement and thrill of live horseracing provides fairgoers and horseracing fans alike with hours of entertainment as they watch this exhilarating sport and cheer on these magnificent horses as they speed toward the finish line.

The Fair will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Carnival wristbands, good all day any one day are $20 in advance, $25 on site. Fair admission prices are $6 in advance and $8 on site for adults, $3 in advance and $4 on site for children ages 6-12 and seniors 60+, and children 5 and under are always free.

Added to all these savings, the Fair offers a Seniors Day on Wednesday, July 22, when adults 60 years of age and over are admitted FREE. Plus, Kids Day is Thursday, July 23, and kids 12 and under are admitted FREE.
