International Walk to School Day, Oct. 8, 2014

Students from schools in seven Solano cities plan to join thousands around the world who will celebrate “International Walk to School Day” Wednesday (Oct.8). The annual event encourages students to shun the gas guzzler and use their feet. To date, more than 35 local schools have registered with the Solano Safe Routes to School (SR2S) program. Participate in the walk and receive incentives and prizes. Solano SR2S is a Solano Transportation Authority program in partnership with Solano County Health & Social Services, Solano Public Health, Health Promotion and Community Wellness Bureau that promotes safely walking and bicycling to and from school.
