Mobile technology improves user experience at County Clerk, Treasurer – Tax Collector’s Office

May 29, 2015

SOLANO COUNTY – Starting June 1 the County Clerk, Treasurer – Tax Collector's Office will launch a new application that supports mobile devises, giving Solano County tax payers greater flexibility in how they view, monitor and pay tax bills.

"It’s clear that our customers want more options when it comes to accessing the services we provide," says Charles Lomeli, Solano Treasurer, Tax Collector and County Clerk.  “By adding mobile support solutions to our existing list of services we significantly enhance the user experience, all while maintaining strict spending limits.”

The recent investment in mobile support solutions is just one example of a series of investments the department has made in technology over the past several years, including:

- A series of multilingual kiosks in the County Clerk lobby, giving Solano County residents the ability to access and complete Marriage Licenses, Fictitious Business Names Statements and other non-court related public records, all without having to wait in line.

- A digital records retention system that improves the ease and efficiency of records retrieval for customers, all while reducing long-term storage costs for the County.

- The addition of a QR code on printed bills, giving tax payers the ability to access a digital copy of their bill with the option to pay using a credit or debit card or electronic check.

“When it comes to technology improvements, we’re just getting started,” Lomeli says.  “We look forward to bringing forward a series of new customer applications, including multilingual support for tax information and enhanced paperless billing options, just to name a few.”
