County hires new Environmental Health Manager

SOLANO COUNTY – Solano County officials have selected Jagjinder Sahota as the new Environmental Health Manager.  Starting Feb. 18, he will be responsible for implementing environmental health programs and services that protect Solano County residents.

Mr. Sahota, who served as an environmental health professional for Fresno, Sacramento and Yuba Counties, and most recently as the Environmental Health Director at Colusa County, will manage several environmental health programs for Solano County, including food protection, solid waste, hazardous materials, body art, recreational health, land use and liquid waste.

"Mr. Sahota's enthusiasm for environmental and public health is quite evident," says Bill Emlen, Resource Management Director at Solano County.  “We are excited to have him join our team at Solano County.”

Mr. Sahota earned his Master of Science degree from Punjab Agricultural University in India with an educational equivalency from UC Davis.
