FEMA opens disaster recovery center in Vallejo for earthquake victims

October 31, 2014

FEMA has officially opened the local Disaster Recovery Center (DRC). It is located at 1155 Capitol Street in Vallejo. It will be open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and this weekend, November 1 and 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hours for future weekends will be determined at a later date.

U.S. Rep. Mike Thompson, and Senators Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein announced Tuesday that the Obama Administration has approved Individual Assistance (IA) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster funds for Solano and Napa County residents impacted by the August 24 earthquake. The Obama Administration also approved U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) loans for homeowners, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. The Obama Administration had previously only approved FEMA disaster funds for Public Assistance (PA).

The FEMA IA funding for individuals and families is to help rebuild and repair housing and other personal property. The Small Business Administration (SBA) loans are available to assist businesses to repair or replace disaster-damaged property, inventory, and supplies. Homeowners and renters may also be eligible for SBA loans to repair or replace disaster-related damages to homes or personal property.

FEMA will provide a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC).  The DRC will be located in Vallejo.  Additional information will be released as details become available.
