Voting materials in mailboxes this week

October 6, 2014

SOLANO COUNTY – Vote-by-mail ballots and sample ballot books should be in the hands of voters this week.

Voters will receive either a sample ballot book or a vote by mail packet depending on their registration record.  The vote by mail packet now contains all of the information from the traditional sample ballot book, plus a vote by mail ballot and return envelope.

Starting Oct. 6, ballots can be returned to any city clerk's office.  Ballots can also be returned to the Solano County Registrar’s Office, 675 Texas St., Ste. 2600, Fairfield, during normal business hours.

Anyone who has not received either a vote by mail packet or a sample ballot book by Friday, Oct. 10, should contact the Registrar of Voters office at (707) 784-6675.

Households will also receive the state Voter Information Guide with information on statewide propositions from the Secretary of State’s office.

The Registrar of Voters has made many of the resources voters need for the election conveniently available on its website at www.solanocounty.com/elections.  Voters can verify their voter registration status, complete a vote-by-mail application, register to vote, request a vote by mail ballot, locate their polling place and download additional sample ballots.

The last day to register for this election is Mon., Oct. 20. The last day to request a vote-by-mail ballot to be mailed out to voters is Tues., Oct. 28.
