August 20, 2018
SOLANO COUNTY – Solano County officials have selected Megan Greve as the new Director of the Department of General Services, who will succeed outgoing Director Michael Lango, who is retiring September 8, 2018 after 34 years of public service. She will begin with Solano County in her new role on August 27.
Ms. Greve, who is currently the Director of General Services at Sutter County, has more than a decade of management experience in the public sector. When she joins Solano County she will oversee the department's $29.3 million-dollar annual operating budget, excluding capital projects, provide strategic leadership to 102 County employees and oversee the departmental programs and services responsible for County operations, which includes internal support operations, capital projects and the Nut Tree Airport.
"I am very excited to join the Solano County team and to provide leadership for the Department of General Services," said Megan Greve. “I look forward to joining the fine staff here and providing outstanding service to the County departments as well as the citizens of Solano County.”
Ms. Greve started her career in public service as a Management Analyst for the City of Lathrop. She later joined Sutter County as a Deputy County Administrative Officer in the County Administrator’s Office, coordinating the development and maintenance of the County budget, overseeing major functional areas and assisting with interdepartmental and intergovernmental programs and services. She assumed the newly created Director of General Services position for Sutter County in 2013.
“We’re all very excited to welcome Ms. Greve to Solano County,” said Solano County Administrator Birgitta E. Corsello. “Her wealth of experience in administering and implementing County support services will continue to promote a clean, safe and healthy environment for employees and the public to work and do business.”
Ms. Greve holds a master’s degree from Northern Arizona University where she studied project management, cost accounting, statistical research and marketing analysis and a bachelor’s of science degree in Animal Science and Nutrition from the University of California, Davis.
