Am I allowed to research lien information?
Yes, a research room is available to the public at the Solano County building, Assessor/Recorders office, 2nd floor.
NOTE: You will need the name, document number and date of recording, all of which can be found on the Solano County website, under Recorder menu, “View Online Official Records Index”.

Can I get a copy of a document? / How do I get a copy of a document?
The fastest way to get a copy of a document is to come to the Recorders office; staff can assist you in locating the required document.

You may also send a written request for a document to the Recorders office. Please be sure to include: Name, return address, type of document, document number, date of recording, copy fee and self addressed stamped envelope.  Please refer to the Fee Schedule for fees.

Can I have a copy of my military discharge papers (DD214)?
If your discharge was recorded in Solano County then you can get a copy of military discharge papers at the County office during business hours, or you may send in a written request (form). You will need to show ID if in person or supply a notarized form if requesting through the mail. You are entitled to 3 certified copies for free by either mail or in person.

How can I find out how many pages in the document?
You may be able to find the number of pages in a document on the Recorder page of the Solano County web site. Under the Recorder menu (left side of screen) select “View Online Official Records Index”. You will be directed to the Recorder’s Paris screen where you can search for documents by Grantor/Grantee, Document Number, Document Date and Document Class. If page count does not seem logical, please call the Recorder Division.

How do I find a document number?

You will be directed to the Recorder’s Paris screen where you can search for documents by Grantor/Grantee Name, Document Number, Document Date and Document Class.

How long will it take to record my documents?
The time it takes to record a document depends upon how the document was delivered to the Recorder:
• Walk-In Immediate • Overnighted 24hrs
• Mailed Within 2 business days of receipt
• Re-conveyances (overnight or certified) record or reject within 48hours of receipt
