Forensic and Records Service Manager

Angela Cunha
Forensic and Records Service Manager

I started my career in the fall of 1998 as a Cadet with the Vallejo Police Department and was picked up as a Police Assistant in 2001. I was introduced to the Forensic World in 2003 when the Vallejo Police Department gave me the opportunity to train and take on the role of their fingerprint examiner. I briefly worked as a court liaison in the Records Division just prior to coming into the Investigations Unit full time.  In 2005, I received further training in crime-scene investigation and eventually fulfilled both duties, fingerprint examination and crime-scene investigation, as a Police Assistant with the Vallejo Police Department. In 2008, I resigned with Vallejo PD to take an Evidence Technician Position with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office. In 2017 I completed my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Forensics, promoted to ID Supervisor and obtained my Certification as a Crime-Scene Analyst with the International Association of Identification. I was promoted to the Forensic and Records Services Manager on November 1, 2020 where I oversee the Records, Civil and Forensic Units within the Sheriff’s Office. I am very grateful for all the training and support from the mentors I have encountered in my years in Law Enforcement and look forward to sharing this knowledge with my colleagues.
