Animal Care Manager

Renee Gutierrez
Animal Care Manager

Renee Gutierrez has been selected for promotion to the position of Animal Care Manager, effective June 30, 2019.

Renee began her career on August 16, 2004 when she was hired as a Limited Term Animal Care Supervisor and Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) at the Animal Care Facility; this position was converted to full-time on March 28, 2005. She enjoyed her job more than she ever could have imagined and quickly began educating herself about herd health and disease control to benefit the animals in her care. She has worked closely with UC Davis to enhance and improve the lives of all animals that arrive at the shelter facility. Her vast knowledge in the Animal Care field both medically and behaviorally have contributed to her success in ensuring the daily operations run smoothly and the animals are available for adoption in a timely manner. Transitioning from Supervisor to Manager was the next logical step in her career to continue serving, protecting and improving the lives of the animals in Solano County on a daily basis.

Two of Renee’s proudest moments were: becoming a grandmother and watching her son become a Correctional Officer. She enjoys family, traveling and outdoor activities.
