Industrial Hemp Information

On November 5, 2019, the Board of Supervisors adopted Ordinance No. 2019-1808, an urgency interim ordinance imposing a temporary moratorium on the cultivation or processing of industrial hemp within the unincorporated areas of the County of Solano. 

 

On December 10, 2019 the County Board of Supervisors adopted Ordinance Number 2019-1808E, extending the temporary moratorium on the cultivation or processing of industrial hemp in unincorporated Solano County. The ordinance can be found here.

  

Pursuant to this ordinance, Section 4. Subsection A., Solano County Agricultural Commissioner will not issue registrations for growers or seed breeders in the unincorporated areas of the county. In the event that an alternate municipality authorizes industrial hemp cultivation or processing, the Commissioner’s office will accept state registration applications. 

  

The ordinance will expire on November 5, 2020 unless this period is extended by the Board. 

 

Solano County Agriculture Department will assist those applicants who intend to cultivate or process Industrial Hemp in incorporated areas of the county via telephone at (707) 784-1310 and via email at AgComm48@SolanoCounty.com.
